What To Do If You Think You Have A Water Leak

If You Think You Might Have A Water Leak:

1. Turn off all the water faucets in your home and make sure the washing machine and dishwasher are not running.
2. Check the water meter and make note of the numbers you see. Check again in an hour. If the numbers have changed, there is a leak somewhere.
3. To determine if the water leak is in the house or outdoors, turn off the shut-off valve on your home's main water supply pipe.
4. Check the water meter again and make note of the numbers you now see. Wait another hour. Check the meter again. If the numbers have NOT changed, then the water leak is inside your home.

Common Places for Leaks:

1. Toilets
2. Faucets, showerheads and bathtubs
3. Irrigation systems
4. Water Supply Lines and Valves
